How to Choose the Right Throw Blanket Size

Blankets can look similar in product photos but feel very different once you unpack them. To choose the right size, measure the part of the sofa, chair or bed that you want to cover.

70 × 100 cm: compact

A smaller option for a decorative arrangement or a compact chair. It is not the same as a full-sized adult blanket.

100 × 150 cm: a smaller throw

A useful measurement for comparing a chair throw or a folded accent across one end of a sofa.

150 × 200 cm: a larger sofa layer

A more generous size for a sofa or the foot of a bed. Check your own furniture width and desired overhang before choosing.

180 × 200 cm and 200 × 230 cm: larger options

These dimensions may work better for broad coverage, but they still need to be compared with your bed or sofa. Check the measurements in centimetres rather than relying on labels such as 'queen' or 'king'.
